Lionel Richie is no stranger to the charts having had a string of hits in the 80’s. Now he is topping the charts yet again, but this time it’s the Country music chart!

This week the “Hello” singer’s new album, Tuskegee, debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart. This marks his highest charting album since 1986 and is also the best selling debut by a country artist so far this year!

Lionel’s debut Country album features 13 of his biggest hits performed as duets with country stars including Shania Twain, Blake Shelton, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw and more!

Tuskegee also debuted at number two on Billboard’s Top 200 chart just behind Madonna with her new release, MDNA.

The two pop icons even exchanged a few tweets congratulating each other!
