He’s a singer, a songwriter, and he’s been on his Liquid Neon tour, but somehow Chris Young manages to stay stress free, even after canceling shows per doctor’s orders.

The “I Can Take It From There” singer is currently on vacation for a few weeks, but instead of lounging around without a care in the world, he’s still working.

In an interview with The Boot, Young talked about stress and explained how songwriting reduces his stress.

“To decompress is just a different mode of work,” explained Young. “But I love my job. I love all aspects of it, so it doesn’t really feel like work to go, ‘I don’t want to think about this stuff. I’m going to go write a song’ … That aspect of being a songwriter helps me relieve stress, to start with a blank piece of paper, you can create whatever you want. It also feeds your career as an artist, too.”

Besides letting his creative energy flow into a new song, Young also revealed he is a huge hockey and football fan and will watch games when he can, and if he has extra time, he enjoys going fishing with his dad.

Hopefully with a net full of fish and perhaps a new single on the way, Young will resume his Liquid Neon tour with Thomas Rhett and Joanna Smith on January 23.
