Celebrity homes are usually worth millions, so when celebs like Carrie Underwood buy homes under half a million, it’s a bit surprising, but within reason.

After winning American Idol back in 2005, Underwood celebrated by buying a beautiful, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath home in Franklin, TN for $384K. It didn’t have signature celeb perks like a personal theatre, private tennis courts or an Olympian size pool but it did have hardwood floors, a spacious kitchen and a fireplace.

Underwood couldn’t have known at the time of her purchase just how successful her singing career would be. According to TMZ, she has sold over 15 million albums and in 2011, she and hubby Mike Fisher spent $3.2 million on 400 acres of land near Nashville to build their dream home.
