Some say the most annoying thing while out to dinner is a ringing cell phone. Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus says he simply can’t be reached when he’s out to dinner with his wife. But the country star admits that the decision to keep his phone off during his date nights grew out of a rather unpleasant experience.

DeMarcus adds that he’s amazed that — as a society — we “can no longer just sit at a table for even an hour and have a meal without picking up our phones.” He says he thinks it would be a good idea for restaurants to adopt a no cell phone policy, in which patrons are required to turn off their phones when the come in — just like on an airplane. Probably a good idea to keep your cell phone off at one of their concerts.
