An evening that started at a Jason Aldean concert with openers Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett turned fatal for one fan. 33-year-old Michael Sanders of Dunmore, PA was killed Sunday night (Aug. 25) after leaving the concert at Montage Mountain.

The Scranton Times-Tribune learned Michael Sanders was hit by a suspected drunk driver in a Jeep at approximately 9:50 pm ET. He was transported to a local hospital where he passed away approximately forty minutes later.

The exact circumstances surrounding this tragedy will require a thorough investigation, which began late last night and blocked traffic for several hours around the concert venue. Police arrested the suspected drunk driver of the Jeep, 23-year-old Ivy Giordano. Her blood test results to determine if alcohol was in her system are pending at this time. See a photo of her here.

It’s also unknown if Jason Aldean, Jake Owen or Thomas Rhett have learned of this news. All three have yet to comment publicly.
