We are a proud partner of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and it’s stories like this that make us happy to work with such a wonderful charity.
According to the Make-A-Wish website, a young boy named Miles has been fighting a battle with Leukemia. Miles loves super heroes and when he was contacted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he informed them that his wish was to be BatKid!!
Thanks to the ingenuity of Make-A-Wish and the help of an entire city, Miles is going to get his wish! On November 15th, San Francisco will transform into Gotham City and will need BatKid’s help!
The day will begin with a televised breaking news story, as the San Francisco Police Chief will be asking if anyone knows the whereabouts of BatKid. From there, BatKid will rescue a damsel in distress, stop a bank robbery in progress and stop the villainous Mr. P from kidnapping the San Francisco Giants mascot Lou Seal.
He will then make one final stop at City Hall where the Mayor of San Francisco will present him with the key to the city!
On Miles’ Make-A-Wish page there are ways that people can participate in the wish, and according to an article on Yahoo, the response has been overwhelming. They are expecting thousands of people to show up with signs, actors have reached out asking if they can play a role, videographers and photographers have offered their services free of charge, people want to give Miles gifts and a fire truck will be coming out to show it’s support!
The only thing Miles know about the day is that he will be getting a costume!
Pretty cool wish and a pretty awesome job by Make-A-Wish and the city of San Francisco!
