‘A Dog’s Purpose’ Movie Premiere CANCELED After Dog Abuse Video

Earlier this week a video was released of a dog on set of the film “A Dog’s Purpose,” featuring Dennis Quaid, being forced into water.

According to Elite Daily, the creators of this movie are currently under fire for for animal abuse, with PETA calling for a boycott of the film, and so Amblin Entertainment has decided to call off the premiere that was supposed to take place this weekend.

The statement from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment said:

Because Amblin’s review into the edited video released yesterday is still ongoing, distributor Universal Pictures has decided it is in the best interest of ‘A Dog’s Purpose’ to cancel this weekend’s premiere and press junket. Amblin and Universal do not want anything to overshadow this film that celebrates the relationship between animals and humans.

The movie has been postponed to premiere next Friday, January 27.
