Keith Urban On Being The Only Male In Category At GRAMMYs

At the 59th annual GRAMMY  Awards show this year, Keith Urban will be the only man up for best solo country performance.

When asked about it, the singer said,

“I just think of it in terms of the work itself. I think there’s always been a rich history of strong female artists and country music, that’s never changed.”

According to CMT, the number of male nominees for this category gets shorter every year. In 2013 there were 5 male and 1 female nominee.

Urban believes it is just a cycle. It all depends on what’s popular in country music at the time.

“The bro-country thing happened,” he said.

We’ll just have to wait and see if his song “Blue Ain’t Your Color” can win against the female artists on February 12th.
