Founding Member Of The Allman Brothers Band Commits Suicide

It’s a sad day for fans of classic American rock group, the Allman Brothers Band.

According to Yahoo! Music, drummer and founding member Claude Hudson “Butch” Trucks commuted suicide on Tuesday night. Sadly, he shot himself in the head while his wife, Melinda Trucks, stood near by.

There is no foul play suspected, and Trucks passed away soon after police arrived.

Trucks was a member in all incarnations of the Allman Brothers Band from it’s inception in in 1969 to it’s official disbandment in 2014, according to CMT.

Our prayers go out to his family and friends.
