There are over 400 prop bets—side bets—you can make on this Sunday’s Super Bowl…everything from the score at the end of each half to whether our president will at any point Tweet about the game or simply during the game.
But at least five prop bets deal directly with Luke Bryan, who is of course performing the National Anthem
- Whether or not he’ll wear jeans (duh, like he’s gonna go out there wearing Dockers)
- The color of his shirt (black, 5/4 odds, red, white and blue, 8/1),
- If he’ll mess it up
- Or have the lyrics written on his hand—as he did at the MLB all-star game in 2012.
- And one that’s getting a lot of attention? The length of his anthem. The over/under is 2:07. In the past he’s done anthems as quickly a 1:24 and as long as 1:59, but nothing over two minutes. The odds are so good he’ll keep it under that a $120 bet will only earn you $100…so maybe go with the color of his shirt, instead. By the way, the longest super bowl anthem ever? Alicia Keys in 2013. The longest athem EVER? Aretha Franklin – 4 minutes 55 seconds prior to this year’s Thanksgiving day NFL matchup between the Lions and Vikings.
