Cole Swindell’s Long Journey To Get Song Recorded

Cole Swindell is a well known name in country now, but it took him a long time to get there. He spent years sending song lyrics to artists, just to be ignored.

When Swindell wrote the song “Flatliner” in 2013, he was hoping Dierks Bentley would notice it, according to CMT. He wrote an email that said,

“Hey guys, I wrote this today, and it’d be fun to play live.”

The email was ignored, but the song-writer didn’t give up. When the two got to know each other a little better, Swindell sent the email again. This time, Bentley read it and decided it would be a hit.

“That’s a hit song, it’s awesome. I wish you’d sing it with me,” he said.

The two singers are now on tour together.

“Here I am on tour with him, and my seventh single on country radio has Dierks Bentley on it. That’s a dream come true,” Swindell said.
