Here’s Your One Chance Fancy—Reba McEntire Hit Is Coming To Broadway

Honestly, I can’t believe it has taken this long for someone to make a musical based on this song. And, if I make it over to NY, I am for sure seeing this. I remember riding in the car with my mom and singing along to this chorus, which is probably not completely cool for a 6-year-old but whatever. I didn’t figure out the premise of the song until much later in life.

The Boot reports that the musical will follow a 16-year-old girl from Louisiana “who is pushed out of her house by her mother and has to survive on the streets. Despite her circumstances, Fancy is determined to make music and is eventually is set on a path toward country music stardom.”

YESSSSSSS. And check out some of the other songs that have been incorporated:

Loretta Lynn “Don’t Come Home a’Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind)”
Bonnie Raitt “I Can’t Make You Love Me”
Carrie Underwood “Before He Cheats”
Gretchen Wilson “Redneck Woman”

I was kind of hoping they’d have some new songs and Reba would have writing credit on them, but I am still willing to give this thing a shot. It hits theaters for a first run in mid-March.
