My parents got divorced when I was 7, and let’s just say I have no memories of happy family times with both of them since then. Now that I am older, they can be in the same space and it’s fine, but they don’t really talk, which is a-okay with me.
But, this couple is making sure that their little boy has a stable relationship with each parent and understands he has a family even if they aren’t always together. It warms my heart.
Mom Victoria shared the following post on Love Matters‘ Facebook page, basically saying that although they don’t love each other or even always like each other, her and her ex-husband, Adam, respect each other and their son comes first:
Victoria goes on to say:
“Adam and I are not perfect co-parents, but we made a deal when we got divorced, to put our son first and to value the richness that we each bring to his life, for different reasons, so yes, we still have a family portrait taken. He will know it is possible to fall out of love but never fall apart.”
I love this. Parenting win.
