Perhaps as part of the preparation for their latest tour together, the couple recently opened up about their thoughts on other famous musical couples, and Billboard got the scoop.
“The truth is, I want to be Beyoncé every single freaking night of my life. So I go out there thinking, ‘I am Beyoncé!'”
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood: Having been singing together since 1990, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have only gotten better since their marriage in 2005. They’ve also spent a lot of time touring with each other. McGraw definitely feels tremendous respect for Brooks and the impact he made on the industry. He said:
“We all came here at the same time, but Garth is Garth and nobody can be Garth. He opened the door for a lot of us.”
Faith Evans and The Notorious B.I.G.: One wouldn’t expect people to confuse a country superstar with a hip hop legend, but it’s happened on more than one occasion with Faith Hill and Faith Evans. In the most recent mistake, CNN erroneously reported that Hill was releasing an album with the late Notorious B.I.G., not Evans. Both Hill and Evans took to Twitter to make fun of the situation, with Hill saying it sounded like an awesome idea, while Evans offered Hill a bonus duet on the CD!
Amy Grant and Vince Gill: While Amy Grant has made a lasting impact on contemporary Christian music and Vince Gill has been a long-staying presence in country music, both have made an impression on the couple. Hill said of the two:
“She is an incredible woman… [Vince] is one of the most respected people in the business.”
