NCAA Football Scholarship Is Awarded To A Woman For The First Time!

The ‘You play like a girl’ insult has been put to shame!

According to Bustle, an 18-year-old from Arizona is the first woman to win a NCAA Football Scholarship. Becca Longo has only played football for a couple years. She first started as a sophomore in high school, then took time off. Leongo returned to the sport in her senior year at Basha High School.

Her football career as a kicker will continue at Adam State University. She will also be joining the basketball team. Other women have played on college football teams before, but Longo is the first to receive a scholarship to do so. “I’m still in shock from it. I’m just amazed.” said Longo.

Below are social media postings from the athlete expressing her joy for this huge achievement!
