This is a nightmare of mine and why I have never flown any of my dogs anywhere. I have worked in customer service for many years and am overly nice and polite when I interact with people at airports, restaurants, hotels etc…but I would lose my cool and it would not be pretty. Or I would just ball and bawl. MY DOGS ARE MY WORLDDDDD.
The Globe and Mail shares the story that happened in Canada to a couple who was headed to Jamaica for a wedding and flying the pup to stay with family. But, instead of being flown to Deer Lake, N.L., the dog was sent to Hamilton, Ontario which is a 31 hour drive or a 3 hour flight. To make matter worse, the pup escaped when an employee took it for a bathroom break.
The couple flew to Hamilton and joined in the search party. It took 24 hours of searching, but the doggo and it’s hoomans were happily reunited. The airline, WestJet, also aided in the search and offered to pay any vet bills plus travel back home.
