From Forbes.  On Cinco de Mayo many of us will choose a margarita. It makes up 14% of American cocktail spending. That’s $2.9 billion spent on margaritas every year.(Yes please) How about beer you ask? We consumed almost a billion liters of Corona Extra in 2014, and 127 million liters of Jose Cuervo tequila (Yikes). There are 54,000 Mexican restaurants in the U.S. On the Border is only present in the U.S. It is the most popular Mexican restaurant in the world, according to EuroMonitor.  Cinco de Mayo is not the Mexican Independence Day. The holiday commemorates the Battle of Puebla, when Mexican forces beat a large French force in 1862.
