It is not fair that Tucker Beathard gets to be Tucker Beathard. Born into an amazingly talented family of athletes and musicians, Tucker himself is one of the most promising young artists out of Nashville right now. The “Rock On” singer’s dad, Casey Beathard, was a college football star and, after that, went on to become one of country’s music’s most prolific songwriters–penning hits for everyone from Kenny Chesney (No shirt, no shoes, no problem) to Eric Church (Wrecking Ball). His grandpa, CJ Beathard was one of the most successful NFL executives ever, earning Super Bowl rings managing the Miami Dolphins and Washington Redskins. And his brother, CJ Beathard, was the 49r’s first round draft pick (out of Iowa) and could very well be their starting quarterback this coming season.
So, I’m not gonna lie, it was kinda nice to hear that Tucker didn’t tear it up on the course at Golf and Guitars this week. But then you find out that it was really the first time he’s ever played, and you realize, eh, give him a few lessons and given his genes, he could probably qualify for the Tour if he wanted to. I woulda loved to have talked to him more about his storied family, his promising career and whether or not he’s a ‘Niner fan yet, but as you can see in the video below, we were kinda backing up traffic and had to cut it short. Oh well, maybe we can ask him at a ‘Niner game this fall.
