I think I might still have some work to do, but it’s nice to know that I just need to look around my own city for inspiration!
The Sacramento Bee shares the news that the city move up two spots from number 13 to number 11 on the American College of Sports Medicine and the Anthem Foundation’s “American Fitness Index.” The index measures “health behaviors, chronic health problems, parks and farmers markets and recreational facilities.”
What did we do well?
The Sacramento region gets an A when it come to physical activity or exercise, dog parks and park playgrounds, and the number of farmer’s market.
Where do we need work?
Too many days of poor mental health, percent of residents with high blood pressure, death rate from heart disease, and death rate from diabetes and not enough residents consuming two fruits and three veggies per day.
Sorry everyone, I am definitely not eating enough fruits and veggies.
