Duh! If Harley didn’t like someone I was dating or if that someone didn’t like him, BYE. According to a recent study, I’m not the only one. Rover.com says a whopping 54% of pet owners would end a relationship if their dog didn’t like their partner. Honestly? I’m surprised it’s not more.
“Young Americans are less likely to be homeowners or parents than previous generations, but one category they lead in, is pet ownership. They shower their dogs with attention and splurge on expensive gifts because their dog is their best friend, and they want to be their dog’s best friend too,” said Brandie Gonzales, a pet lifestyle expert. “Dog people are deeply concerned about their dog’s feelings and well-being. And we’re seeing that reflected in everything from how people name their dog to what they feed them, and the type of pet care they prefer.”
Danielle Adinolfi, a marriage and family therapist, said, “People rely on their dogs for judgments of character and whether or not they’ll be a good fit.”
Would side are you on? Give the relationship a shot or no?
