NFL owners have agreed to change the regular-season overtime period. The new rule will shorten the time from 15 to 10 minutes, the ESPN reports. The proposal had safety in mind, arguing too much time could lead to exhaustion and risk of injury.
There were 6 overtime games last season in which the extra period lasted more than 10 minutes — the 2nd-highest total in NFL history. To cut the time down, possibly even for broadcast reasons, owners debated the issue in March. Now they’re follow through. What do you think?
