Shania Twain is getting ready to release her first album in 15 years, and she’s revealing some surprising backstory behind it.
“The very first producer that called me, who reached out to me before I’d even written the album — I was writing all the time but I hadn’t started writing for the album … I get a call from Prince. And Prince and I — we had a few conversations, we emailed each other. We exchanged [notes] on email for … months.”
Unfortunately, they were unable to collaborate in the end due to conflicting schedules. Following the legendary musician’s untimely passing in 2016, Twain revealed not working with him was a huge regret:
“It’s like, if I ever had professional regret, that is definitely one of them.”
Her new album, Now, is due out on September 29th.
