Pregnant News Anchor Speaks Out After Viewer Calls Her “Disgusting”

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but sometimes they should just keep it to themselves. I would say this is one of those times.

Laura Warren is an anchor for WRDW in Augusta, Georgia, and last week she received a voicemail from a lovely (sarcasm) woman telling her to “buy some decent maternity clothes so you don’t walk around looking like you got a watermelon strapped under your too-tight outfits,” according to Refinery 29.

Laura is 20 weeks pregnant and shows off one of the dresses she recently wore:

I couldn’t even rock that dress at 0 weeks pregnant, so props to her.

Laura shared her response to the viewer, saying the following:

“We are living in a culture tolerating, often even encouraging bullies…how do we teach our kids to be kind when adults all around them can say such cruel things? I’m just going to turn her negative energy into positive energy. I’m going to say as many nice things as I can to as many people as I can, and I’m going to do it in a dress that fits these beautiful new curves with my ‘watermelon’ stomach showing.”

She added that she had a miscarriage before this pregnancy and is celebrating this one so she’s not going to hide it.

What I've been hiding behind the news desk! 😂
