Oldest Man In The U.S. Dies At 111

The oldest man in the United States has sadly passed away.

According to the Desert Sun, Larry Matthews was the nation’s oldest living man, a record he held for the past year while at the age of 111. Unfortunately, his health took a sudden turn over the past two weeks and he passed away on Saturday, July 22nd.

Friends described him as being in great shape for his age, and Matthews was known to be proud of his age.

With his passing, the oldest man in the U.S. is now Richard Overton. Overton is also 111-years-old, and was surprisingly only born 10 days after Matthews.

Both Matthews and Overton are two years behind the oldest man in the world, 113-year-old Israel Kristal of Israel, and six years behind the oldest woman in the world, 117-year-old Violet Brown of Jamaica.
