Stop the presses (literally), because high school senior, Grace Goble, is showing her shoulders in the yearbook.
If she was able to wear this sweater to school, which she claims she was, that’s the end of discussion.
It isn’t inappropriate, she looks adorable and age appropriate and even if it IS the school’s policy, it seems like an antiquated rule that could be appropriate sometimes and hogwash in others. Plus, she’s not even IN school for this photo.
After being told that none of her photos were approved, Grace contacted her principal who wrote back saying that he would personally reach out to the portrait studio and would allow the student task force to review the dress code, according to TODAY. At least that’s one good thing coming from this.
Look, I get that not everything is appropriate to wear to school. But I don’t think shoulders are inappropriate. Maybe don’t allow spaghetti straps or tube tops, but there are always exceptions to the rule.
And I can’t speak for other schools, but my high school ranged in temperature per area. In the summer time, one room could be 95 degrees while another was 65.
Okay, rant over. You know, until another absurd story like this comes out.
