Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Pure Country, George Strait is releasing the soundtrack for the first time on vinyl September 15. As noted by CMT, this limited edition press will be the first vinyl format release of the album.
The 1992 film Pure Country, in which Strait played the lead role, released at number 6 opening week with the soundtrack selling more than 6 million copies. The soundtrack, which contains hit singles “I Cross My Heart” and “Heartland,” is still George Strait’s highest-selling album to date.
Strait completes his 2017 residency in Las Vegas with concerts scheduled Dec. 8-9.
