Nevada County Beaches Closed After 9 Kids Contract E. Coli

Nine children and one adult have been diagnosed with E. coli after visiting Lake Wildwood in Nevada County. Furthermore, three of five beaches on the lake that were tested showed positive results for the E. coli.

Six of the nine kids are still in the hospital, and half of them have developed a potentially life-threatening condition with anemia and kidney complications, according to KCRA.

The cause of the contamination has yet to be determined, but testing will continue.
