A Fleet Of Self-Driving Lyft Cars Is Coming To San Francisco “Soon”

They don’t say exactly when, just soon. So maybe by the end of the year?

According to Reuters, the cars will come from Mountain View startup company Drive.ai and initially include a driver in case something goes wrong.

You won’t get a self-driving car unless you opt in though, so no worries if you’re like me and this weirds you out. Additionally, the initial rides will be free, so that is one perk.

If the San Francisco pilot program is successful, self-driving cars could make their way to the other 350 cities that Lyft operates in. I don’t know about you, but that thought terrifies me…

Would you try a driverless car?

Honestly, I’m just over here waiting for that Taco Mode feature…
