Flight Canceled At Sacramento Airport After Scorpion Is Found On Plane

On Sunday morning, an American Airlines flight headed to Chicago was canceled after a scorpion was found on the plane. 125 passengers were reportedly booked on other flights, according to SF Gate.

The flight arrived at SMF in Sacramento from Arizona, where it is believed that the scorpion boarded the plane (without the proper ticket, of course). The plane was rerouted to Dallas where it will undergo fumigation.

Scorpion stings can definitely be painful, but most are rarely life threatening.

This is actually the second time a scorpion stowaway on a plane is making news. Earlier in the year a similar incident occurred on a Delta plane, when a scorpion fell from an overhead bin onto a passenger…admittedly a little more terrifying.
