California Law Aims To Bump Up Age For Provisional Driver’s Licenses

I am so far removed from getting a license that I didn’t even know there were restrictions through the age of 18.

According to KCRA, they include not being able to drive between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. and not having any passengers in the vehicle. Exceptions are for those going to work or school.

Bill AB 63 was approved on Monday by a 47 to 25 vote, and would increase the age of restrictions from adults under 18 to adults under 21.

Assemblymember Jim Frazier, D-Oakley, says that the bill aims to “protect young drivers and make our roads safer for everyone who uses them.”
