In a somewhat crazy coincidence, the last official day of summer was also the first day of snowfall in the Sierra. It seems like the mountains decided to just skip over fall and go straight to winter, and I am kind of okay with that.
According to CBS News, there is a winter weather advisory and roads are slick in the area.
“Since late September is an unusually early time for this amount of snow we have decided to issue a winter weather advisory above 7000 feet with main concern near Donner pass,” the National Weather Service said.
It’s pretty, but it can be dangerous, so if you are heading anywhere in the are make sure to use caution.
