After announcing that she was working on a new album in 2013 (her first album since 2002’s Up!), fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Shania Twain’s upcoming album entitled Now.
The album is set to drop Sept. 29 and she worked with new and different producers this time around.
Twain has said that the new album will have more diversity, reports the Boot:
“This album is more diverse than any other album I’ve ever done — not that I’ve done a ton of albums, but it’s the most diverse of the albums I’ve done. There’s a lot of variety there, but what I’ve learned about myself is, as a songwriter of all the songs, the emotion and the voice ties it all together as one artist.”
She also spoke out about writing all the songs on the album by herself. She wanted the songs to be very close and personal to her. She said in an interview with Rolling Stone:
“It needed to be really pure and my own story and my own emotional journey. I was now alone all of a sudden, and I didn’t want to shy away from it. And that’s not a collaborative thing; it’s a very personal thing.”
Although Twain had previously said her last tour was her 2015 Rock This Tour, she will be hitting the road again for her Now Tour in 2018.
