The Latest On Mass Shooting At Las Vegas Country Music Festival

I can’t believe I’m waking up to this. I’m absolutely devastated. Hits too close to home. Like many of you, I saw Jason Aldean Friday night. Not to mention, I’m going to Las Vegas this Friday! I’d hate to think this could’ve been me, someone I care about, or one of you. Prayers. So many prayers today. Hug your loved ones! Let’s try to get through this together.

As of right now, CBS reports the mass shooting at the Route 91 music festival near the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino is the deadliest in U.S. history, with now 58 people dead and 500 wounded. The number, sadly, may rise. Shots rang out just before 10:10 p.m. with almost 22,000 people in attendance.

The gunman was identified by law enforcement as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada, who has no significant prior criminal history. Authorities found several weapons in the retiree’s 32nd floor room after using explosives to enter. Officers found at least 8 weapons, including multiple long rifles. The shooter is dead.
